Baltimore, MD – The National Academy of Engineering's Center for the Advancement of Scholarship in Engineering Education (CASEE) has once again designated ABET's Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership (IDEAL) as a CASEE Dissemination Channel. The CASEE designation is a seal of approval that recognizes IDEAL as a trusted source of high quality training resources. IDEAL was originally designated an a CASEE Channel in 2008.
CASEE Dissemination Channels provide seminars and workshops that educate the engineering community about rigorous approaches to engineering education research.
IDEAL
ABET's IDEAL provides a 4½-day professional development opportunity for faculty and administrators who are responsible for developing assessment plans to improve student learning and to document program effectiveness.
Participants in IDEAL – drawn primarily from programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology programs – leave IDEAL with:
- a completed implementation plan for use at their home institution; and
- a designation as an IDEAL Scholar.
Participants also receive a year of follow-up support with IDEAL Leader and ABET Managing Director of Professional Services, Gloria Rogers, Ph.D.
As a CASEE Dissemination Channel, IDEAL will be highlighted in CASEE outreach materials, including its website, brochures, speaking engagements for the next two years, through September 26, 2012. Read more about IDEAL.
