Presenter Biography

Erevelles

Winston F. Erevelles, Ph. D., Professor of Engineering; Dean of the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology, St. Mary's University

Winston F. Erevelles is a Professor of Engineering and Dean of the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology at St. Mary's University. Dr. Erevelles previously served as a faculty member and administrator at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA and at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan. He has also worked as a Manufacturing Engineer and Plant Manager at Mykron Engineers in Mumbai, India. His interests are in the areas of Automation, Rapid Prototyping, and Reverse Engineering.

He is a recipient of the 2008 SME Education Award, the 2005 Carnegie Science Center Award for Excellence - University/Post-Secondary Educator, the 1997 Rodes Professorship at Kettering University, the 1996 Society of Manufacturing Engineer's Philip R. Marsilius Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, and the 1996 GMI Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Teaching in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

He is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and also serves as the Chairman of the Materials Committee.
