Is Your Program Recognized?

1. Did you graduate from a four-year, bachelor’s level engineering program on or after 1980?

  • Yes: Proceed to next question
  • No: Program not recognized by the ABET/Engineers Canada bilateral Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). This bilateral MRA was signed in 1980; therefore, it applies only to students who graduated in 1980 or later.

2. Did you graduate from an engineering program based in Canada or the United States?

  • Yes: Proceed to next question
  • No: Program not recognized by the ABET/Engineers Canada bilateral MRA. This bilateral MRA applies only to programs based in the U.S. or Canada.

3. Was the program you graduated from accredited by ABET or Engineers Canada at the time of your graduation? To check the accreditation status, please visit either:

  1. Engineers Canada Accredited Program List 
  2. ABET Accredited Program Search
  • Yes: The program you graduated from is recognized under the ABET/Engineers Canada MRA.
  • No: Program not recognized by the ABET/Engineers Canada bilateral (MRA). This bilateral MRA applies only to accredited (at the time of your graduation) engineering programs based in the U.S. and Canada.
