ABET Regrets the Loss of Capt. Kent Hamlin

Kent HamlinBaltimore, MD - Recently, ABET learned of the death of an esteemed volunteer, Capt. Kent W. Hamlin, P.E., who lost his battle with cancer on November 2.

Capt. Hamlin first became involved with ABET when he volunteered as a program evaluator from the American Nuclear Society (ANS), represented ANS on the ABET Technology Accreditation Commission in 2008, and was serving his third year in this capacity at the time of his death.

Capt. Hamlin was President of KWH Associates, LLC, in Powder Springs, GA. Earlier this year, he retired from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations in Marietta, GA, after nearly 28 years with the organization. Most recently, he was the company's Director of Accreditation and headed the division responsible for accrediting nuclear power plants in the United States. In addition, he was a retired United States Navy Captain.
