Partnership to Advance Volunteer Excellence
In the spirit of
continuous improvement, ABET has been focused on strengthening the
processes for program evaluator recruitment, selection, training, and
performance appraisal. The goals of this initiative are the following:
-
Increasing the value
of ABET accreditation to our customers.
-
Enhancing the value of
the experience volunteers gain from participating in ABET activities.
-
Improving the
accreditation process for team chairs and program evaluators.
-
Assisting member
societies in carrying out their volunteer-related accreditation
functions.
-
Advancing ABET’s
vision to provide world leadership in assuring quality and stimulating
innovation in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology
education.
With dedication and
enthusiasm, representatives from ABET's member societies have been
working for more than a year to meet those goals, and we are now closer
than ever.
The Partnership to Advance
Volunteer Excellence (PAVE) is
the implementation phase for the process improvements in program
evaluator recruitment, selection, training, and performance appraisal.
Program evaluators form the foundation of the ABET volunteer effort;
consequently, PAVE implementation is also a precursor for the continuous
improvement of all levels of volunteer participation in ABET, including
commission and Board leadership and service.
