Dos and Don'ts

Please read ABET's policies about how you can and cannot promote your accredited program. Know them! Follow them! Then, move on to promotion!

Accredited programs are welcome to link to any page of the ABET website. The following pages may be particularly useful:

ABET-Accredited Logos

ABET-accredited programs are encouraged to use logos designed for programs that have met the accreditation standards of at least one of the four ABET commissions – the Applied Science Accreditation Commission (ASAC), the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC), the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), and the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC).

Please note, however, that the ABET signature logo in the upper left corner of this website is reserved for ABET use only.

Publicize your program's accreditation with this ABET-approved press release template (DOC). If you’d like to use a different format or materially different wording, please contact the ABET Communications and Marketing Department.

Accredited Programs at HBCUs

Howard University was the first historically black college or university to have ABET-accredited programs. ABET's predecessor, the Engineers' Council for Professional Development, accredited three engineering programs there in 1937.
