Baltimore, MD - ABET regrets to announce the loss of our esteemed colleague, Dr. Donald Sanderson, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Dr. Sanderson, a professor in the College of Business and Technology's Department of Computer and Information Sciences at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), has been associated with ABET for many years and was a recognized expert in program assessment.
He began his association with ABET as a volunteer in 2004 and completed ABET's Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership (IDEAL) in 2006. Dr. Sanderson was recently selected by ABET to lead its regional workshops for higher education faculty on sustainable assessment processes.
The entire ABET community sends out our deep regrets and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Donald Sanderson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ETSU Computer and Information Sciences Department Foundation for a scholarship fund in Dr. Sanderson's name. A memorial service has been planned for Tuesday April 26, at 7 p.m. in the Culp Auditorium at ETSU.
