Why did you volunteer for ABET?

As a department chair, my volunteer work for ABET helps me manage the continuous improvement of the academic programs in my department. As a professor, my program evaluator experience gives me an opportunity to gain better understanding of good teaching practices, innovative curriculum design, and better pedagogy from various universities.

In what ways do you think your participation has an impact
on your profession?

My participation in program evaluator work has had a positive impact on my administrative work and my professional development.

How does your volunteer work help students?

It helps deliver the best program possible to them.

What are some of the qualifications that make a good ABET volunteer?

You need to be conscientious and want to see good programs get even better.
