We are proud to announce that 130 new programs have gained the distinction of being ABET-accredited. As of October 1, 2019, ABET accredits a total of 4,144 programs at 812 institutions in 32 countries around the world. These include the first programs in fundamental physics and petroleum geosciences to receive ABET accreditation.

Based in Baltimore, we are the global accreditor of postsecondary programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology. ABET accreditation signifies that students, employers and society can be confident a program is producing graduates ready to enter the global workforce. Our voluntary peer-review process determines that a program is meeting the needs of industry while continuously improving the education it offers.

Our accreditation impacts professionals around the world. Today, over 870 programs are outside of the U.S., accounting for more than 20 percent of all ABET-accredited programs.

Governmental entities and major companies such as Boeing, Caterpillar and IBM prefer or require their new hires to come from ABET-accredited programs, which is a mark of the assurance our globally-recognized standards bring to all sectors.
